The gadget has three main views:
- Dashboard view – View information about your CMS account and files you currently have locked.

- Page view – Publish, review and troubleshoot the page you currently have open.
You can leave the CMS Editor gadget open while navigating through the CMS. Its contents will update to match your current location.
Dashboard view

Breadcrumb
The breadcrumb provides navigation and context for the current CMS location.
Use the breadcrumb to quickly return to a previous location when working within the CMS.

Current User
The Current User section displays information about the CMS account you are currently signed in with.
This can be useful when confirming which account you are using, particularly when troubleshooting permissions or publishing access.

View Locked Files
Select View Locked Files to see files that are currently checked out to you.
Checking out a page prevents other editors from making conflicting edits while you are working on it. Pages can sometimes remain checked out after you finish editing, so this list provides a convenient way to find pages you may need to check back in.
Use this tool when:
- You want to see which pages you currently have checked out.
- Another editor is unable to edit a page you recently worked on.
- You want to clean up pages that you no longer need locked.

Directory (folder) view
The Directory view appears while browsing a folder under Content > Pages.
It provides tools related to the current folder and the content contained within it.

Breadcrumb
The breadcrumb displays the location of the current folder within the website.
Use it to quickly navigate to a parent folder or confirm which section of the website you are currently viewing.

Dependency Tag Toolbar
Modern Campus CMS uses dependency tags to track relationships between pages, folders, assets and files.
Instead of permanently storing a CMS-managed link as a URL, the CMS can associate the link with a dependency tag. This allows links to continue working when managed content is moved or renamed.
The Dependency Tag Toolbar provides quick access to dependency information for the current directory.
This is especially useful when:
- Troubleshooting links to a folder or content within it.
- Determining how CMS content is connected.
- Investigating a dependency tag found in page source or another CMS tool.
- Preparing to move, rename or reorganize website content.

Page view
The Page view appears when you open an individual page in Modern Campus CMS.
This view contains tools for publishing the page, reviewing its metadata and inspecting content that the page uses or that depends on it.

Breadcrumb
The breadcrumb displays the location of the current page within the website.
Use it to confirm the page's location or quickly return to one of its parent folders.

Publishing Toolbar
The Publishing Toolbar provides shortcuts for viewing and managing published versions of the current page.
Before publishing or unpublishing a page, make sure you are using the correct destination.

Open Published Page
Open an existing published version of the current page.
This is useful for comparing different published versions of a page or confirming that a recent publish completed successfully.
Dependency Tag
View the dependency tag associated with the current page.
Dependency tags allow Modern Campus CMS to keep track of links between CMS-managed files. They are particularly useful when troubleshooting links or determining which CMS file a dependency reference belongs to.
Search for Dependency Tag
Search for information associated with a dependency tag.
Use this tool when you encounter a dependency tag and need to determine which page, file, folder or other CMS content it represents.
Unpublish Page
Remove the published output of the current page from the selected destination.
Use this option carefully. Unpublishing does not delete the editable CMS page, but the selected published version will no longer be available until the page is published again.
Publish Page
Publish the current page to the selected destination.
Publishing sends the current saved version of the page to the selected destination. Before publishing to Production, review your changes and verify that the page is ready for public viewing.
Page Title and Description

The page title identifies the page and is commonly used by browsers and search engines.
The description provides a short summary of the page's content and may be used by search engines when displaying the page in search results.
Use this section to check that:
- The page title clearly describes the page.
- The title is specific enough to distinguish the page from others on the website.
- The description accurately summarizes the page.
- The description is written for someone deciding whether the page contains the information they need.
View List Toolbar

Select a category to display the related items.
Subscribers
View pages or other CMS content that depend on the current page.
Subscribers are especially important when you are preparing to rename, move, replace or remove content. Checking this list can help identify other pages that may be affected by your changes.
Assets
View CMS assets used by the current page.
Assets are reusable pieces of content that can appear on multiple pages. If content on the page appears to come from an asset, it may need to be edited from the asset rather than directly on the page.
Content Links
View links from the current page to other CMS-managed content.
This list can be useful when reviewing a page before publishing or troubleshooting where a particular link originates.
Binary Files
View binary files referenced by the current page.
Binary files commonly include:
- Images
- PDFs
- Word documents
- Excel spreadsheets
- PowerPoint presentations
- Videos
- Other downloadable files
Use this list when troubleshooting an image or document, reviewing files used by a page, or determining whether a file is still needed.
